Special Hospital Board Meeting on Custodial Care

Hospital news | Wednesday, August 5, 2020

Dear Community Members,

We exist for the purpose of providing accessible, quality healthcare to our hospital district community members. Changes in the healthcare environment and COVID-19 have us re-visiting our custodial program. We value this service and know that the community values it as well. However, with the ever-changing requirements in healthcare and COVID-19 we are questioning the safely of the residents and staff
in the middle of an acute care hospital.

For our fragile Custodial residents, Arbor Health is home. Their home is in the middle of a hospital that was not constructed to isolate the residents from the rest of our patients. This situation is very concerning to us. Plus the fact that over the past few years there has been a decline in request for custodial care needs. With very few residents, it is also difficult to adequately support the social needs of these residences. Therefore, we are asking for your participation in a special board meeting on August 10, 2020 at 6:00 pm. Again because of COVID, this special board will be held on Zoom. You are welcome to attend by Internet or by telephone:
