Outstanding Direct Patient Care Service Excellence Award
Chana Albracht, Physical Therapist
Employed: August 2013
Nominated by: Amanda Seals
Core Value: Know the Way, Show the Way, Ease the Way
“I was recently treated as a patient by Chana for a severe case of vertigo. It was something I had never had before, and it was a scary experience not knowing what was wrong with me. Treated in the ER, Chana's expertise, thoroughness, and gentle spirit were instrumental to my very successful outcome. The initial diagnosis gave me hope that I would soon be well again. The hope that she gave me was key, because I was no longer scared. That hope carried me through my worst days. It took no time at all with a couple of PT/Rehab visits to get back to being myself again. I am so thankful for the care and treatment I received by Chana. She is a bright light in the organization that exemplifies know the way, show the way, and ease the way through the amazing work that she does!”

Outstanding Direct Patient Care Service Excellence Award
Lacey Ross, Physical Therapist
Employed: January 2023
Nominated by: Katelin Forrest
Core Value: Know the Way, Show the Way, Ease the Way
“As I was walking down the Rehab department hallway, I witnessed a patient's family member reach the Rehab Department. The patient's family was looking for the patient who was actually here for inpatient rehab. Lacey greeted the family and asked how she could assist them. When she learned that they were here to see someone who was here for inpatient rehab, she explained that the patient would be in Nursing. The family was apologetic, but Lacey eagerly told them, "Oh, it's ok, let me show you where to find the Nurse's Station" and accompanied the family members down the hall to the Nurse's Station.
Lacey demonstrated Know the Way, Show the Way, Ease the Way and made the patient's visitors feel welcome and comfortable while assisting them to find their family member. It made me smile to see her interaction and that she showed them where to go when she could have just pointed them in the right direction.”

"During our recent employee appreciation event she stepped in to help when I had an unexpected family emergency. This is just one example. She is very flexible and is always willing to learn and help with a positive attitude wherever she is needed.
I can count on her to step in and keep things moving forward when any of her team members or myself needs her support. I appreciate that she is positive and professional when supporting staff and leadership within the facility and out in the community.
I can't say enough good things about Katelin and the quality of her work. She takes pride and ownership in everything that she does. She is an advocate both in the facility and the community."

Outstanding Leadership Award
Janice Cramer, Patient Access Manager
Employed: September 2012
Nominated by: Karma Gacke
Core Value: Motivate, elevate, appreciate
“When Janice first took over the Patient Access Department, the moral was very low. We felt like no one cared about us. Then we got Janice and finally found out what it truly meant to have a manager to motivate you and uplift you to want to work harder. We now have a team that enjoys coming to work and being together.
Jancie is always willing to keep us informed on what is going on around the hospital and the community. Working the front desk/ ER it makes it very hard to get away for any of the meetings or fun things going on, but she always keeps us informed and makes us feel included.
Janice also has a way with teaching us without making us feel like we are being chastised.
We, as a department, have been truly blessed to have Janice as our manager.”

Josh Munter, Physical Therapist
Employed: October 31, 2023
Nominated by: Lacey Ross
Core Value: One team, One Mission and Motivate, Elevate, Appreciate
“I was approached by our manager to put together a topic for the Arbor Talks during Wellness Week. When my son's soccer schedule came out, I realized I would be missing two of his games during the week due to hospital events I was scheduled to participate in. Josh did not hesitate to step in and help me put
together a PowerPoint presentation for the Arbor Talks as well as take the time out of his week to make the presentation to allow me to attend my son's game. This is just one example of how Josh is always stepping up in our department to exemplify our Core Value of 'One team, one mission".
Josh never hesitates to do what is needed to make our department successful and is someone we all know we can count on - he is the best teammate! He has a consistent impact in rehab services with his positivity, and ability to motivate and elevate those around him to really provide the best care we can for our patients and
community. He is always going the extra mile to help others within our department whether it be educational, improving the flow of charting, or just being a sounding board for a coworker. Josh is also a consistent presence at community events to represent our department and he does this so well.”

“Kim inspires me with the way she has handled adversity. Kim encouraged one of her staff to follow her dreams to become an RN with the first step of becoming a medical assistant, even though it was going to leave a hole in her department. She has also supported her staff as we all deal with the loss of our beloved Vi.
Kim has also suffered a personal loss recently and through it all she always has a smile of her face and is always professional. She reminds me to find joy along the way.”

Barbara Van Duren, Chief Nursing, Chief Quality Officer
Employed: October 2023
Nominated by: Kelly Hauser
Core Values: One team, one mission
Motivate, elevate, appreciate
Find joy along the way
“Barb is an exceptional role model and leader. She has brought so much to AH in the time she has been here. The general feel of the environment is calm and relaxing. I find it enjoyable that Barb makes rounds during the day to check and see how we are all doing. She is genuinely concerned about our issues. She works hard to make sure her nurses are supported and heard.
I hear the other nurses noticing as well. Often, I will come out of the OR area and see Barb talking with her AC staff. They are smiling and laughing and telling fun stories. She is not afraid to give praise to individuals in front of all. I feel this encourages others to want to do better as well.
Barb is helping with creating an environment for growth and prosperity at AH. I, for one, am grateful that she is here."
