Participants choose between a 5K and 8K Hill Challenge.
Some will run, some will walk—all will be dazzled by the scenery.
The amazing route winds through the trails on Tacoma Power property near Mossyrock Park and includes the rare opportunity to cross the Mossyrock Dam and take in the awesome Riffe Lake views!
This year's course has changed a bit:
- We will be walking across the dam and then starting on the far side and running back across.
- The 8K run will include a hill challenge. If you accept the challenge, you will be running/walking to the bottom of the dam and then back up before completing the course.
- Both the 5K and the 8K will have a small cross county component. (See both maps below)

Day of race registration- You will be able to use your device to register and pay online. A QR code will be available onsite.
You will also be able to register at this link below from home before coming over. If you prefer to pay with cash on the day of the race, please bring the exact amount as change will be limited.

Special pricing available for families. Once you register 2 adults and 2 youth, you may enter any other youths for free.
In order to do this, just enter them as age 11 and younger and you will not be charged. Then please email us their names and ages so we can adjust the information on the back end. emeelhuysen@myarborhealth.org
Refund Policy: Partial refunds (75%) are available until June 13. We are unable to provide refunds after June 13.
Please note: Dogs and bicycles are not allowed on the course. (Service dogs are excluded from this rule.) Stroller are fine on both races, but large-wheel varieties are recommended as there are gravel sections and a small section that runs on grass.
PLEASE NOTE, ONLY REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED ON THE DAM. And ONLY DURING THEIR RUN/WALK. DO NOT GO BACK ONTO THE DAM.
Directions to parking area
- From Mossyrock—Continue on Mossyrock Rd toward Mossyrock Park, which will automatically turn into Ajlune Rd.
- You will turn left onto Young Rd., prior to reaching the park.
- Follow Young Rd around - turn right onto Hydrovista Lane. You are now entering the event site.
- Turn right onto Switchyard Lane and you will be parking along this road.
- The highlighted area near the start line shows the parking area. Please park angled in.
