Physical Therapy

Physical therapy (PT) reduces pain and enhances your physical function, mobility and fitness level. This personalized approach helps you regain control over your body and improve your quality of life.

PT can be an essential part of your treatment and recovery for these symptoms:

  • Persistent pain.
  • Incontinence.
  • Tendon or ligament issues.
  • Osteoarthritis.
  • Recovery from joint replacement or other orthopedic surgeries.
  • Balance deficits.
  • Muscle weakness.
  • Limited mobility.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) empowers you to engage in activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding. It also focuses on enhancing high-level functional skills essential for daily life, including meal preparation, money management, shopping, community navigation, household chores, and skills related to school or work.

If you face any of the following challenges, our OT team can provide tailored support to help you regain independence:

  • Chronic pain.
  • Limited mobility.
  • Muscle weakness.
  • Osteoarthritis.
  • Recovery from joint replacement or other orthopedic surgeries.
  • Cognitive challenges.
  • Poor endurance.
  • Tendon and ligament issues.

Speech-Language Therapy

Speech therapy (ST) focuses on enhancing communication, cognitive skills and swallowing abilities. This vital therapy addresses skills necessary for effective interaction at home, in the community, at work and within educational settings.

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, speech therapy can provide valuable support:

  • Voice disorders.
  • Fluency challenges (such as stuttering).
  • Difficulty with chewing and swallowing.
  • Fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.
  • Speech disorders.
  • Cognitive deficits, including difficulties with memory, concentration and problem-solving.
  • Language challenges, encompassing reading, writing, math, listening, comprehension and word-finding difficulties.

Medical Massage

Are you looking for a focused approach to healing and recovery? Medical massage offers you an outcome-based treatment aimed at addressing your specific needs through skilled techniques to release and heal muscles, tendons and ligaments. Whether you prefer a gentle touch or deeper pressure, your session will be tailored to what feels right for you.

Unlike spa massages that provide general relaxation, medical massage centers on a broader range of therapies designed for muscle health and recovery. Our team will develop a personalized plan outlining your goals and recommendations for a treatment plan to ensure consistent healing, not only short-term relief.

Medical massage is beneficial in the treatment of:

  • Persistent pain.
  • Inflammation that limits your activities.
  • Poor circulation.
  • Nerve compression affecting mobility or comfort.
  • Reduced flexibility.
  • Recovery challenges after exercise or physical activity.

Are you ready to take the next step toward recovery? Our dedicated rehabilitation services team is here to support you every step of the way. You will receive personalized therapy designed to meet your unique needs, help you achieve your goals and regain your independence.

Edwin has been a physical therapist for over 35 years. Though he grew up in Ohio, he has spent much of his career in the Pacific Northwest. After completing his undergraduate work in Lincoln, Nebraska, he went on to physical therapy school at Loma Linda University, where he graduated in 1989. He later attended the University of Oregon in their graduate program in exercise and movement science.

He has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, hospital-based outpatient, preventive medicine and skilled nursing. He spent over 10 years in outpatient orthopedics, where he managed clinics in Oregon for a large outpatient group. In 2010 he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he went to work as a lead therapist on the acute inpatient rehab unit at a large community hospital/trauma center and eventually became the rehab services manager, overseeing the acute care, adult and pediatric outpatient and athletic training departments, covering the hospital's two campuses.

With the goal of moving closer to his granddaughters in Oregon, he moved to Washington in 2017, providing direct patient care. His desire to return to leadership and love for Lewis County led him to accept the leadership position at Arbor Health–Morton Hospital in April 2019. He was excited to work with the dedicated team at this growing critical access hospital. He continues to see patients, is a certified orthotic provider and in 2023 became a certified orthopedic manual therapist through ASPIRE OMT Institute.

In addition to work, he loves to be outside and active, hiking, building and training for triathlons. In 2019 he completed his first half-marathon and the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim in a day with his wife. In 2022 he completed his first Ironman 70.3. Edwin has 3 grown children living in the PNW and loves being with his grandchildren. Ed is also actively involved with his church.

Chana Albracht, MPT, COMT

Chana earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Pacific Union College and her master’s degree in physical therapy from Andrews University. During her 20-plus years as a physical therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient acute, pulmonary rehabilitation and home health. Her areas of expertise include orthopedic injuries and surgeries, vestibular disorders and women’s health.

Chana developed the pelvic floor physical therapy program at Arbor Health–Morton Hospital to bring this much-needed service closer to home for the residents of East Lewis County. She became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through ASPIRE OMT institute in 2023. In 2024, she successfully completed the next level of manual therapy certification through ASPIRE, spinal manipulative therapist (SMT). She particularly enjoys the close relationships and teamwork demonstrated by the dynamic group of therapists at Arbor Health Morton Hospital, and their dedication to expanding the therapy services provided to the community.

With a desire to live in a small town and closer to family, Chana moved to Morton from Texas in 2013. When she is not working, she spends every spare minute with her husband and their children. She enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, skiing, hiking and mountain biking. She is actively involved in homeschooling, as well as church activities including children’s programs and teaching.

Debra Cole, PTA, CAPTCC

Debra received an applied science degree in the arts of physical therapy in 1985. For the past 34 years, she has been working with adult orthopedics, aquatics, geriatrics, acute care, sports medicine, neurological conditions and balance deficits. In addition, she worked with pediatrics in the clinic setting as well as the school setting early in her career.

Debra has been a lifelong learner. She has taken multiple continuing education courses, staying up to date with the latest Physical therapy techniques and evidence-based care. She completed her CAPTCC (Certificate in Aquatic Physical Therapy Clinical Competency) certification in 2021 so that she can better serve the residents of East Lewis County at the therapy pool here at Arbor Health. Debi is passionate about being able to serve the people in her local community by providing excellent care, close to home.

Debra and her husband have lived locally for over 25 years. When not at work, she enjoys family time with her grandkids, camping, cooking, hiking, church activities, going to the beach, and just hanging out on the couch binge watching her favorite TV programs.

Katrine Dahn, PT, DPT

Katrine Dahn earned her bachelors in Kinesiology in 2009 from Washington State University, and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 2014. She spent the first nine years of her career working in Inpatient Physical Therapy at large hospitals. While working there, she saw people with a large variety of physical therapy needs, such as those following trauma and orthopedic surgeries, cardiopulmonary patients including post-surgical and heart transplant, and those in the Intensive Care Unit. Her primary focus as a therapist has been early neurological rehab, including working several years as a Neurological ICU lead therapist. She feels the best part of being a physical therapist is helping people get back to the things that are important to them, so they can live their best life!

In 2021, she and her husband moved back to the Eatonville area to be closer to family and to raise their children in a small town. She worked in Puyallup for several years before recently making the switch to Arbor Health where she was excited to join the rehabilitation team at Arbor Health in Morton and serving this close-knit community.

In her free time, Katrine enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, as well as their two dogs, one cat, and one horse. She enjoys anything that takes her outside, including hiking, horse riding, running, and gardening, as well as curling up with a good book!

Karli Devoe was born and raised in Olympia, Wash. After completing her undergrad degree in Race Studies at The Evergreen State College she worked as a Spanish Medical Interpreter for several years. While working as an interpreter with Industrial Rehab clients, Karli concluded that there should be more Spanish-speaking providers in the healthcare field. She began to think about a career change and going back to school. Her younger sister was studying Occupational Therapy at Eastern Washington University and casually mentioned to Karli that she should consider OT, and the rest is history.

Karli is very happy to part of Arbor Health’s awesome rehab team!
